Eat a handful of nuts and seeds daily!

Have you seen our recent post about the Mediterranean diet and why it’s so good for you? Well, it includes lots of nuts! We should all try and have a handful of nuts and seeds (think hazelnuts, walnuts, pistachios, almonds, pecans, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds) almost daily. Unless you are allergic of course, then please don’t 😊.


Recent research shows that eating nuts and seeds daily offers a bounty of benefits. Here’s why you should aim for a handful a day.

  1. Help you feel fuller for longer so help in cutting out snacking – add nuts to your breakfast yogurt or porridge

  2. Boost heart health

  3. Loaded with essential vitamins and mineral – nutrient dense food!

  4. Good source of protein and high in fibre

We love to dry fry a mix of nuts and seeds after marinating in some apple cider vinegar, salt and cayenne pepper – a great winter snack that the whole family loves – try it and let us know how it goes!
